Title or Blurb?

Good problems to have!

I haven't yet had the pleasure of writing either for a book, but have agonized plenty over both for short pieces.
And which would I rather do?...
The title! Although I find it harder than the blurb to write, it's much more fun. Writing alternative titles to classic books is a great way to wile away a long, otherwise unproductive afternoon.
I hated the title I gave to my most recent submission. And within half an hour of submitting it under the deadline, the better title came to me. Lesson learned...need at least an extra half hour to work that title.
Question for all book authors out there:
Is it true that the publishing company will give your book a title, with or without your input?
Happy Blog Hop, Happy Nano Everyone! Thanks for reading!
I wish publishing houses would provide titles! Lol. I think they might shop it, based on some feedback I got from my 1st book that was with an agent for almost 2 years. Got a few mid-size publishers who were interested but only if I would change the MCs name and the title. Was totally open to changing the title, but the MCs name was very intentional and symbolic so wasn't changing that. After my contract was up, I self-pubbed and haven't looked back.
Thanks buches for stopping by my blog. I love that you look at blurbs as microfiction. I like your image too, very funny. I've heard publishers can make changes to titles but I don't think smaller presses do that.
For me, a title is much easier too. I hate condensing a story to a one-liner.
I've never been published by a big publisher, but in my experience, small publishers don't change your titles. At least, they didn't change mine.
